Hi All - I've recently begun SAI series and it's been a great help. The emphasis of Session 6 was to take small steps forward and not enter into any situation that 'floods' you with anxiety.
Unfortunately, life must go on. I recently applied for and was offered an exciting new job -a good thing - but of course, as with entering any new situation, there's a fair amount of (social) anxiety associated with it. New people, new places, expectations to meet in terms of job performance, introductions, etc.
As much as I'd like to be taking small steps, as the Dr. advises, it's unfortunately not possible in this case. I'm only on Session 6 - but leaving this Sunday for an intense week of introductions and job training.
Any suggestions? I feel as though I've made great progress and hate to 'relapse,' but as I say, I have no choice. Need to earn a living, work, etc -
Any advice would be much appreciated!
