The "Correct Way" to do each session?

I’m just about to start my first session, and I’m a little confused on
how I should go about doing each session.
Should I listen to the audio first before I start my 30 minute reading?
Is it okay to spend more than 30 minutes reading the handouts?
If I finish reading before I hit the 30 minute mark,
should I start another round of reading until the time is up?

I recently noticed that I have SA, and I have been searching
all over the internet to find the “solution.”
I really hope this could be the one.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

Hello Dream10,

The audio sessions are meant to be listened to about 1-2 times a week; they do not need to be listened to every day. The thing that is most important is doing the 30 minutes of therapy every day. This is the way that we get the rational content from the therapy to sink into our brain.
It’s never good to “overdo” it. Dr. Richards found from helping people with SA for over 20 years that the 30 minutes is the best amount of time to spend doing therapy each day.
With Session 1, there are handouts that are more for informational purposes, but the goal of Session 1 is to get you to practice doing slow talk while reading handouts for the 30 minutes. So, you can read any of the handouts found within Session 1’s contents, just as long as you read them for 30 minutes total (not 30 minutes for each one). So if you finish one and you still have time left, you would need to read another handout.

Hope this helps, but if you have any other questions let me know.
