I’m new here and this is for my 15 years old daughter. She has social phobia. Whenever She feel anxiety or nervousness in front of a crowd, she used to cry. The depressing fact is that the people around her began to laugh and this will make things worse, I don't know how to deal with her. She had lost all her confidence.
Actually, she is getting anti-anxiety medications which is not helping her much. As per the advice of our family doctor, we are planning to get help from a mental health treatment clinic in Toronto. She can easily manage loneliness but the problem arises when she’s in a crowd, especially with unknown people. She is trying to avoid parties and such occasions because of this strange behavior. I wonder whether this is because of the anxiety or she has any other serious mental issues. Does anyone here have similar experiences? How are you coping up with such situations? Please help me
