This is my first time posting on the SAI forum. I have a question and I'm not exactly sure where to put it. I am going through the online therapy and am on week 5. Up until beginning this program, I have been in talk therapy for the last year and a half. Although it has helped with my social anxiety some (mostly surrounding feelings of self worth), I realized that my physiological symptoms were still as bad as when I entered talk therapy, so I decided to try a new direction with this online CBT program. I understand that it's important not to dwell on ANTS thoughts and not let yourself get swept up by overanalyzing and overthinking problems, but I wonder if journaling can be used effectively along with this program? When I was in talk therapy I found journaling to be one of the more helpful ways to process my emotions. Although I never allow ANTS thoughts to take over when I'm journaling, I'm wondering if journaling when I feel overwhelmed or confused is hurtful to the whole rewiring your brain process? I would love to hear anyone's insights on this. Thanks so much.
