Okay, so I'm in a speech class right now and I recently had to give my first one in front of the class. I was still somewhat nervous leading up to it, but not as much as I would have been in the past. Before, I would have been absolutely dreading it even for a few weeks beforehand. The actual speech went fine - not perfect - but good enough I think. I have a friend in the class who told me I did not appear nervous while in front of everyone, which was very nice to hear and maybe the most gratifying things about the experience! Going through Dr. Richards therapy has certainly helped me get to this point. I've been going over the concepts daily for a while now and have seen a lot of progress in being able to do activities that I had previously avoided. I'm still overthinking things sometimes, but that has also improved to a degree. I'll have more speeches to make in the future, but now I don't think they'll seem quite as intimidating.
