Continue to reinforce the cognitive therapy. Have daily slow talk out loud conversations with yourself about what is concerning you right now, and state the conditional/rational out loud too. You choose the healthy path now. You choose to keep moving forward.
Use your coping statements and your deserving statements, and don't fight the anxiety. Yes, I am nervous right now, but that's okay. It's normal to be nervous on interviews and it's normal to be nervous when starting a new job. It's normal to be nervous and to need time to find your footing, even months into a job - it's still normal to be nervous. I won't fight that. I will accept that as a thing, but I won't feed into the ANTs. I won't let my emotions stop me from considering the rational. I won't let that stop me from moving on the right path. I deserve to have a job like everyone. I have the right to try my best to get a job, just like everyone. I have the right to be nervous and to not know what to do, like everyone. That's okay.
In school you didn't have to talk to people if you didn't want to. Yep, and having the choice to not do things is also a way we don't continue to get better. Maybe it's been good that you have been able to do the cognitive therapy in a place that allows you to use it slowly. But to continue on, we do have to face new challenges and use the therapy. You do want to talk to people. You do want to continue feeling better and getting better. And for that to happen, you can't keep avoiding, and not doing. Things will be different at work, and that's what you want. You want a chance to keep getting better. Now you are taking the initiative, being more assertive because you can - to choose to "DO" instead of not doing.
Let's consider the alternative. What a relief it would be to get no job and face nothing! Or is it really? In your heart, is that really the way you'd like to go? That path will also be the way to go to stall out or fall back. Remember that alternative. Once you start doing and keep doing, this habit becomes easier and slowly feels better. The anxiety lessens exactly because you are not being passive anymore. You will have to continue doing the therapy yes - you will have to continue reinforcing the rational and the themes in the therapy - a lot, so that the ideas becomes real feelings, real beliefs. But you can.
