Thanks for liking a couple of my posts. It made me happy.
I try to be careful about asking for advice and feedback. The reason is because I've gotten a lot of advice/feedback that either hurts my feelings or just causes me to feel more confused. I've known people who enjoy analyzing me and don't seem to understand how much their feedback can hurt my feelings. Other people's advice just creates more noise or confusion in my mind.
I like to get advice that makes me feel good or understood. I also like advice that feels like it's helping me in that I feel refreshed or clearer or more decisive afterward.
I just don't think anyone in the world, let alone people who deal with anxiety, need more noise, confusion, criticism, or shoulds in their mind.
I think it's hard to find good advice. I also think we'll get wiser as we become more compassionate and accepting and less abusive and critical with ourselves. Then we'll be able to trust ourselves more or find people who see and respect us and give us helpful feedback.
On that note, I'm going to start my therapy now.
