Good afternoon, "lazy bum".
Ah, sometimes I have lazy days. We all do. There is no perfection here. Just one more good day on the journey.
I'd like to mention how important catching ANTs really is. So, even saying something like, "did kick off several ANTs through the day" is an extremely important statement. That's extremely awesome. Let's imagine one or two years from now. In this future, you will feel a lot better. You may have done the therapy series a few times already. You may have started to do things in your life that you never imagined doing. You feel much more free again. In some ways you don't avoid situations that used to cause you much more anxiety. There are days that you might not even think about anxiety at all. All of this is so much of a change, but it happened gradually over time that you don't remark upon it so often.
And where did that all start? I think it all started with catching ANTs and not letting them take control. The first thing we start doing in the therapy isn't necessarily the simplest. Back to the future, two years from now... you may have some doubts, some other worrisome thoughts that pop up. But at this time you might not be as actively doing/thinking about the therapy. Life is better, and yet at times you have these negative ideas about yourself or about some issue. And that is when you can and still should apply exactly what you did today - kick off the ANTs. So, this habit you are getting into now, practicing now, this skill you used just today - this is still an awesome thing you are doing, and the thing that you should be doing for the good of yourself. So, well done.
