I'm a 55 yr old man who has been dealing with social anxiety disorder as long as I can remember. I started getting some help about 6 yrs. ago and have made some fairly good progress through getting on the right medication and learning about CBT and how negative thinking of different kinds has been fueling this disorder. Also learning about mindfulness and meditation has been very helpful. I figure I will deal with SAD the rest of my life but at least it is getting more manageable.
